Terms of use
The terms for using Keystone
Plain terms for a free, early-access product: what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.
Last updated 4 November 2026.
Who we are
Keystone (working name) is run by Corey Cabrera in Portland, Oregon. "Keystone", "we" and "us" mean Keystone. "You" means the person using it and the business they use it for. By using the website or the workspace you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Keystone.
Using Keystone
- You must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms for yourself or your business.
- Keystone is in early access. It is free today. Features may change, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.
- If paid plans start, we will tell you the price before anything is charged. Nothing is billed without your agreement.
Your account
Keep your password private and use one you do not use elsewhere. You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has access, change your password and tell us through the contact form.
Your information
What you put into Keystone stays yours. You allow us to store and process it only to run Keystone for you, as described in the privacy policy. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time.
Not professional advice
Keystone is a planning and reporting tool. Its plans, reports, comparisons and suggestions are general information produced from what you enter and from published sources. They are not accounting, tax, legal, investment, lending or appraisal advice. Talk to a qualified professional before making decisions that depend on them.
Industry figures come from third-party publishers. We show the source for each, but we do not guarantee they are accurate, complete or current, and they do not predict results for your business. Sample businesses shown on the website are fictional.
Expert introductions and paid services
Keystone can introduce you to independent professionals, such as CPAs, attorneys, lenders, brokers and valuation professionals. They are not Keystone employees. Any advice or work they give is agreed directly between you and them, and Keystone is not responsible for it. When you send messages or files to a professional through Keystone, they can read them; do not send anything you do not want them to see.
Some services, such as a business valuation, are paid. The price is shown before you pay, and payment is taken by card through Stripe when you order. A valuation is an independent professional's opinion of value, not a promise of what anyone will pay. If we cannot match you with a valuation professional within 10 business days, we refund the fee in full. Once a professional has accepted and started the work, the fee is not refundable.
Fair use
Do not try to break or get around Keystone's security, access other people's data, overload the service, copy or scrape it, reverse engineer it, or use it for anything unlawful. Only enter information you have the right to use.
Other services
Some features use other companies' services, such as Supabase (accounts and data storage), LinkedIn (sign-in, if you choose it), QuickBooks (if you connect it), Web3Forms (the contact form), Stripe (card payments for paid services), Resend (email notifications), OpenStreetMap (the map in the partner portal) and Anthropic (written explanations). Their own terms apply to their services.
Our work
The Keystone software, design and text belong to us. These terms do not give you rights to them beyond using Keystone. If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve Keystone without owing you anything.
No warranty
Keystone is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose, or that its figures are correct. Keep your own copies of important records.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data or business interruption arising from your use of Keystone. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Ending
You can stop using Keystone at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. Any dispute will be handled by the state or federal courts in Multnomah County, Oregon.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters, we will tell signed-in users before it takes effect.
